We are pleased to offer the use of our Community Room to local groups, clubs and organizations. The Community Room seats up to 50 people, and room setup options are flexible.
All use of the library’s meeting rooms must comply with the Millinocket Memorial Library Meeting Room Policy and Guidelines. Printed copies of the Policy and Guidelines are available at the Circulation Desk.
Applications to use the Community Room may be made by visiting the Circulation Desk or by filling out our online application. Ideally, events will occur during our regular hours of operation. However, exceptions can be made if we are able to find a library volunteer who can open and close the building for an after-hours event.
Reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to programs by the library and the Friends of the Library. All reservations must be considered tentative until they have been confirmed by a library representative.
We ask that groups, clubs and organizations cancel any reservation by contacting the library as soon as they become aware the room will not be needed. To avoid confusion, we ask cancellations be made no later than 48 hours of the scheduled reservation. Reasonable accommodation will be made to reschedule programs that are cancelled or delayed for weather-related emergencies.
We reserve the right to cancel a scheduled meeting with appropriate notice if the room is needed for library programming.
Activities Permitted ~ The following uses are specifically permitted; others may be permitted at the discretion of the Library Director:
- Lectures, film showings and demonstrations
- Community programs
- Service of beverages, sandwiches, and light snacks; groups must provide their own supplies.
Activities Not Permitted ~ The following uses are specifically not permitted:
- Service of full course meals
- Alcoholic beverages
Please Note: No group or organization shall be denied space due to age, sex, race, beliefs or affiliations of its members. Failure to adhere to the following guidelines may result in the suspension of a group’s privilege to use any Library meeting space.
