New Volunteer Opportunities at the Digital Learning Lab
Do you or someone you know have a knack for computers? Are you a technology connoisseur? Do you enjoy sharing your digital skills with others? If so, we encourage you to take advantage of the new volunteer opportunities at the Digital Learning Lab. We are currently looking for patient, energetic, and enthusiastic people to join the Digital Learning Lab team at Millinocket Memorial Library.
The Digital Learning Lab (DLL) is looking for volunteers to provide one-to-one device assistance to the public during our weekly drop-in hours; to teach workshops on a wide range of technology-related topics; to help maintain DLL equipment such as laptops, iPads, and portable wifi devices; and to be a part of growing new, exciting, and innovative programs. By volunteering with the Digital Learning Lab, you will strengthen your leadership and communication skills, gain experience teaching small workshops, and students can earn community service hours for graduation.
The DLL is a program of the Millinocket Memorial Library, supported by the Gloria C. MacKenzie Foundation, that provides access to technology for people of all ages and abilities through workshops, device lending, and drop-in hours. Our current workshops include Introduction to Computers at the Millinocket Memorial Library on Wednesdays at 9am and Understanding Broadband at the East Millinocket Public Library on September 4th at 6pm.
If you are interested in joining the DLL as a volunteer or as a workshop participant, or if you have ideas for future workshops, please call the Millinocket Memorial Library at 723-7020, stop by the library during our open hours, or email Taylor Sulander, the Digital Learning Lab Coordinator, at taylor@millinocketmemoriallibrary.org.
